This year I’ve improved a lot, I grew up and became a more mature person. Throughout this year I’ve experienced many events that served as lessons and eye opening experiences. I started to care more about my future and dedicate more of my time in order to achieve what I want in order to have a brilliant future.
skills i have improved
A skill that I particular improved the most in my sophomore year was to manage my time. I’m a really active person and I do many activities after school, such as soccer, gym, driving lessons, tennis, JSA club, and more. In the first semester of the year I struggled in balancing, my school work, with the many activities that I do after school, plus my social life. However, I noticed that I had to improve my organization skills in order to be successful in all aspects of my life. I sought for help from my parents, my counselor and teachers. I entered a class that my school offered called Life Management Skills that introduced me ways to organize my life and become a more proactive and productive person. It’s notorious that I’ve improved, as it shows in my grades and performance in my extra curricular activities. I’m also less stressed and I can get everything done.
greatest moments
I’ve had many great and not so great moments this year, in both academic and personal aspects. One of my greatest moments in academic purpose, specifically in English class was the blog post. In the third quarter my English teacher assigned us to do a blog series, either in things that we like, or places we’ve been or jobs we consider in pursuing. I chose the second option, because I love to travel and lived and visited many places. The name of the series is “Oh The Places You’ll” you can check it out by clicking on the name, the series consists of many blog posts where I share the best moments and places of the country or city I visited. In the fourth quarter I had the liberty to choose a topic of my choice for each blog post, which I was really excited about, because I’ve always love to write specially in blogs, where I can tell people the best of my experiences and fact about myself.
greatest challenge
My greatest challenge is to turn my assignments on time. I have many classes and extra curricular activities that fill up my days. I had the difficulty to remember to turn in the assignments, even if I did it or not. In this year there was more than one time that I did the project but I forgot at home or I forgot to turn it in. Such as one of the blog post, I wrote it, I posted it, however I forgot to submit in the haiku page. As I explained previously, I became a more organized person. I made daily and weekly lists that served as a reminder of upcoming assignments and activities. I still struggled with activities such as membean that we are required to do 15 minutes per day, however whenever I remembered, I did more minutes than necessary to compensate the days that I missed. This year a have much less missing assignments than in my freshmen year, and that was definitely a challenge last year.
next year?
Next year I want to become a better student, my goal is to have all A’s and B’s. I’m going to use the lessons that I learned this year and in my previous school years, to achieve my goal. My grades this year are much better than in my freshmen year, and I’m only improving. I’ve been studying harder, not only to have good grades, but to learn, so I can use the knowledge that I learned in High School in a future jobs or in anything that life offers. Also I want to improve my English vocabulary. Considering the fact that English is not my first language, I don’t write the same way as people who have English as their mother tongue. I want to become the best writer as I can.
